Poster!

This is a final version of my poster for the release of our song. I created this poster using Photoshop on the Apple Mac. When I was creating this poster I had to bare in mind that it should be appealing to the audience adn it should match the music video. The song involved 3 girls that wanted to be the only one for the opposite person. The poster should show their selfishnes and how they want to stand out. I decided to use black & white on the poster because I wanted to show that there is a dark side to the girls of the band as well which is not shown in the video. However I still kept the name in pink to make it easy for the audience to recognise the poster and know straight away which band they are looking at. As it's a girl band I decided to include all three girls on the poster in order to bhe able to represnt all three girls.

Overall I think that the poster and the musiv video work well with eachother because the music video shows a bright side of the girls however from the poster you start expecting more from the girl band. Also I think including all the girls in the poster really works well with the video as each girl has their own verse and is shown in the music video.

This is the final version of my digi pack that I created using Photoshop on the Apple Mac. I used the pink border to match the band name which is ''Ariel Pink'' and I decided to use a black background to make the contents of the digi pack stand out. Also the other reason for using the black background is to make sure that the digi pack and the poster have something in cummon. I think that the digi pack is appealing to athe target market and the audience because the contents that I've used is suitable for the age range that I chose which is 16-28 year old people.

Also I think by looking at the digi pack it makes you want to listen to the song and watch the video. By representin each girl on one side of the digi pack and having all 3 girls on the front cover I made sure that the viewers have a good idea of how each singer looks like because it might not be very clear in the music video because of the fast moving shots.

Overall I think the digi pack has a great effect on the target market and the audience as it meets their needs and is up to their standards. Also as I mentioned earlier the digi pack and the poster both work really well vith the video as they both represent all three girls.

Evaluation Question 3

Evaluation Question 2

Evaluation Question 1

Existing Music Videos

1. The first image is a shot from Eminem's ft Dr. Dre video called ''I Need a Doctor''. In the shot you can see Dr. Dre lying down with an oxygen mask and the lyrics say ''I Need a Doctor'' which is a connection between the music and the visual.

2. The second image is from the Pussycat DOlls video called ''I Don't Need a Man'' and it shows all the gils together during the chorus of the song and the way they are represented in the visdeo is how a record company would want to represent their artist. They are dressed glamrously and wild which attracts the audiences attention.

3. Shot three represents the genre of  the Destiny's Childs video ''Lose My Breath''. Although they are wearing sophisticated clothes on the left hand side the hip hop dressed girls on the right represent the genre of the music which is R&B.

4.Shot four is from the N-Dubz video ''Papa Can You Hear Me?''. I think this shot has a intertexual refrence because the song relates back to dappy's life and how he is sad about losing his father and want his father to forgive him.

5. The fifth shot is from the Jennifer Lopez video ''On The Floor'' which demonstrates the use of light. As you can see in the image there are different coloured lightings used in that scene which is the purpose for trying to create a clubby look. The song is about dancing and letting your hair down therefore the lighting should match the mood of the song.

6. Shot six is again from the Jennifer Lopez ''On The Floor'' video which shows a close up of her face showing her facial expressions. The reason that I chose this shot was to show my understandings of using a close up shot and using different camera shots.

7. Shot seve is from Nikki Minaj ''Moment 4 Life'' music video which shows her bedroom where she is sitting down and doing her make up and looking at her self in the mirror. the long shot of her in her bedroom shows the mise-en-scene that was used with in the video which is simillar to what we did with the difference that our room was way smaller then the one in her video.

8&9. The reason that I chose shot eight was to show where I got ideas from for our music video. Shot eight is an image of beyonce and two other girls dancing in her video ''Single Ladies''. They are lied up and have the same dance routine which is simillar to what we did for our music video this was one of the videos that I watched in order to get ideas from. Also shot nine is an image of Rihanna cose up which shows her facial expression during the chorus. We tried a simmilar camera shot however not as close as Rihannas. The shot is from the video ''Only Girl'' which is the song that we chose for ou music video.

Own Music Video

1. The first image which is Samantha with the purple background is showing one of the girls from the group. The lyrics say "I want to make your bed for you". So by putting her hands towards her ears she is indicating that her hands are the pillow. This shows that we have connected the narrative to the song.

2. The second image is of me and in that image I had my hair done and had makeup on with my dress therefore I thought that the company might want to represent their artists in this way where they look sophisticated and posh. This image makes the girl band look good and they could attract male audience.

3. The third image is showing the three band members doing their dance routine which shows that the song is in the Pop/RnB. The lighting in this image indicates that the girls are happy because they are dancing and having a good time.

4. The fourth shot is representing intertexual refrence. In this shot megi is garbbing her hair and the lyrics say ''make it last all night'', this shows that she is really thinking about it and showing it to the audience.

5. Image five shows that we've used different camera angles and  it shows that we were being creative with the thoughts for recording our music video. This image is a birds eye view/ high angle shot which shows full facial expressions.

6. This image demonstrates our use of light. In this image you can see that we have used yellow, purlple and a touch of pink to represnt the happynes of the girls and to make the dance routine more appealing.

7. Shot seven shows our use of Mise-en-scene.this shot is from my verse which we recorded in Samantha's bedroom. As you can see in the image we have used the bed and the pillows that were on the bed and we decided to record this verse in Samantha's bedroom to make use of different location and the mise-en-scene.

8&9. Shots eight and nine show that I have watched other videos to get idead for our music video. Shot eight shows the three girls dancing to the chorus, I watched Beyonce's music video called ''Put a Ring on it'' and in her video there are three girls dancing to the chorus smillarly girl bad Pussycat Dolls have simmilar videos where all the band members dance together at some part of the music video in order to present that they are a girl band and not individual singers. Shot nine was from Rihannas song ''Only Girl'' where she uses a close up of her face to show expression we thought that it would be good to use a close up whilst we record the first part of the chorus.
